STUTTERING

Stuttering is when speech is interrupted by repeating sounds or words, stretching sounds, or getting “stuck” when trying to talk. It can look different for every child and may change over time.

At Sinclair Speech Pathology, we holistically assess the child who stutters and recommend an evidence-based treatment program that will be the best fit for you and your child.

Laura Sinclair has a wealth of experience supporting children who stutter, having coordinated the Paediatric Stuttering Clinic at La Trobe University for over five years. In this role, she provided specialist assessment and therapy in line with best-practice guidelines, managed complex caseloads, collaborated closely with families and other health professionals, and contributed to the development and evaluation of stuttering services.

Laura also trained and supervised speech pathology students, and provided consultancy and professional development to other speech pathologists, making her a leading speech pathologist in the treatment of childhood stuttering.
