Every child varies in their speech and language development, however there is a typical range to a child’s development.

Does my child have delayed speech and/or language?

At Sinclair Speech Pathology your child’s speech and language will be thoroughly assessed and an individualised treatment program will be devised to support them. The speech pathologist will liaise closely with educators and other health professionals to help your child achieve their speech and language goals.

Seek help from a speech pathologist if you answer yes to any of the below statements:

My child appears to be talking less than their same-aged peers
My child is frustrated when they try to communicate
My child is having difficulty understanding what is said to them
My child is finding it difficult to follow their teacher’s instructions
My child is not using single words by 18 months of age
My child is not using 2-word phrases at 2½ years of age
My child’s speech is difficult to understand at 3 years of age
